The Birmingham Business Journal is seeking a production director. This person will be responsible for overseeing the production of the publication. He or she will establish news and advertising deadlines, ensure a smooth workflow in collaboration with the other department managers and serve as a liaison with the printer. We are looking for someone with the ability to handle deadline pressures with flexibility and a positive attitude. He or she must know Mac OS, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat. Sure it seems like we’re posting the same job twice, and actually we are. The job opportunity we posted in July was filled. This is a new opening but for the same position. Good luck.

The Birmingham News seeks a part-time page designer to work on the editorial news desk. Candidates should have a four-year degree and experience editing and designing pages in an editorial environment. Daily or weekly newspaper experience is preferred.
